Features include:

1281 Models can be used on any table, including transparent light tables. Its free standing base provides very flexible setup conditions and great mobility within an office. Results are fully scale compensated and expressed in any measuring unit desired. Any scale ratio can be used, Imperial, Metric or arbitrary. Scale ratios can also be determined and programmed into the 1281 automatically by measuring a known length or area. Measurements can be performed in the point mode, (for straight line areas and lengths) the stream mode (for irregularly shaped areas and lines ) or a combination of both. A built in utility instantly converts results to other measuring units, both English and Metric. For right or left hand operation, the display is always optimally positioned. Battery protection for scales, decimal settings, setup parameters, etc. Computer interface for work with Pc's and Mac systems. Automatic averaging of results. Results can be added to or subtracted from each other. A built in counter can be used to count items and works in conjunction with Lasico's 70AA marking pen. The programmable cursor switch can conveniently control all major functions.

Left or right hand operation The arms can be used either to the left of the base for "right handers" or to the right of the base for "left handers". Unlike with most electronic planimeters and area/line meters, the display is always upright and easily visible, even from across the room. Shown here is a 1281-24 set up for left hand use.

The Display A large 8 digit LCD panel displays finished, scale compensated measuring and counting results, Numeral size is 0.5" / 1.27 cm Small LED's verify the active operating mode.

The instrument cursor glides smoothly with very little friction and provides excellent support for the guiding hand. Studies have shown this system to be superior to a pen stylus with significantly better control, speed and precision. All functions can be selected via the cursor switches. Cursor switches can also be assigned to a remote switch built into the handle for added one hand operating convenience.

Use with Printing Calculator A customized printing calculator (No. 1285-14) is available from Lasico. It can be connected to 1281 systems for printout and manipulation of measuring results.
	Use with Computer A versatile computer interface is readily integrated, to communicate with PC's and Apple Mac computers. All you need is an interface cable, available from Lasico.
Space is at a premium in most offices and on most tables. The 1281 systems can be set up just about anywhere. If folded up, the 1281 can be parked on a narrow strip of table, well out of the way but always ready for action.
