The Measuring Range

1281 instruments provide an active measuring range of circular shape. Theoretically, the base of the instrument could be positioned right in the center of a very large circular pattern.
However the practical range can be found within a semi circle with a 2ft / 61 cm radius for model 1281-12,
a 3 ft. / 0.9 m radius for model 1281-18 and a 4 ft./ 1.2 m radius for model 1281-24,
