*) Excel Macro for Landscape Estimators The LSMacro will assist you in estimating landscape jobs quickly and accurately. The LSMacro makes three different Excel templates: one for estimating ground cover, one for estimating trenching, and one for listing parts and plants. The macro uses Microsoft Excel version 5 or later. Using the groundcover template, you enter area, ground slope, and material and labor rates per unit area for a given area. The macro then computes the incremental and total areas adjusted for slope and the incremental and total costs of those areas. Use a LASICO 1280/1281/1282 instrument to measure a plan view of the area, then press a button to enter the reading and automatically start the computations. Using the trenching template, you enter trench width, depth, and length as well as the cost per foot and cost per cubic yard. The macro then computes total length of the trench, incremental and total volume of earth removed and incremental and total cost. . Use a LASICO 1280/1281/1282 instrument to measure the length, then press a button to enter the reading and automatically start the computations. Using the List of Parts and Plants template, you key in description, part numbers, quantity, supplier, and cost of material and labor, and the macro then computes incremental and total costs. Either key in quantities or use the item count facility of LASICO Models 1280/1281/1282 to count items from a drawing. Press a button to enter the count and automatically initiate the computations.
