Lasico Measuring and Positioning (DMP) Adapter

Basic DMP Mod. 62-0

The Lasico DMP Adapter is a modular transducer for digital conversion of instruments and tools.
While it can perform the same functions as the Z-Axis Adapter described on the previous page, the DMP is considerably more versatile and flexible. A Lasico Processor is needed to operate the DMP Adapter

The digital conversion of a mechanical device results in numerous advantages:

Considerably higher operating speed and ease of use.

Push button zero setting, automatic scaling of results and quick numerical readout guarantee a much improved operating efficiency.

Furthermore, the recording of results via a line printer or host computer saves additional time and eliminates potential transfer errors.

Higher Precision:

The transducer generates 2000 pulses per shaft revolution resulting in a significant increase of measuring resolution. (usually by a factor of 10-20). Furthermore readout errors often encountered with vernier readout systems are completely eliminated.

Other advantages include:

Since digital conversions can be accomplished quickly and without any customizing, one DMP adapter can be used with several instruments . Any "digitized" device can be quickly reconverted to its original condition within seconds.

The use of a flex connector in the adaptation eliminates the need for critical alignment and permits smooth transmission of rotational torque through angles of 45 degrees or more. DMP Adapters also shield sensitive instruments from vibrations and body temperature, which are easily transmitted by the human hand.

Note: DMP adapters need to be operated in conjunction with a Processor and may be interfaced with a host computer via Computer Interface Circuits.
