Spreadsheet Macros and Programs for Computation of Flow.

For PC’s :

To utilize these programs with electronic data entry you need:
An electronic Radial or Square Root Planimeter and processor with either an attachable interface : SM2 + N1KB, M / XM + N2KB, or a processor with built in interface: M2 / XM2.
A 1285-7 KB Interface Cable plus your PC with MS Excel or Lotus 123

Note: The programs can also be utilized by entering data manually from results obtained from mechanical planimeters.

  • Excel Macro for Computing Orifice Flow Constant and Gas Flow ( Gasflo 12 / 02 )

The Gas Flow macro (Gasflo12-English and Gasflo02-Metric) implements equations of AGA-3 to provide a simple and rapid means for computing orifice flow constants and flow. It must be used with Microsoft Excel software version 5 or later. You enter parameters including orifice diameter, meter tube diameter, tap type and location and the macro will compute the pressure independent part of the orifice flow constant. Compute and save any number of these constants on an Excel spreadsheet. Select a constant, enter your planimeter readings of average square root values of static and differential pressures, and your macro will compute the complete orifice flow constant and flow. You can save any number of flow computations on an Excel spreadsheet. LASICO instruments enable you to enter each planimeter reading automatically by pressing a button.

English and metric versions of the Gas Flow macro are available. The cost is US $145.00.

  • Excel Macro for Computing Gas Flow (Flowex01)

The Flowex01 macro also provides a simple and rapid means for computing gas flow on an Excel spreadsheet, version 5 or later. However with Flowex, you enter the computed orifice flow constant used in the flow equation; it will not be corrected for actual pressure levels. Measure the average square root values of static and differential pressure, enter the planimeter readings, and the macro will compute flow automatically. You can record any number of flow computations on an Excel spreadsheet. LASICO instruments enable you to automatically enter each planimeter reading by pressing a button

The Flowex02 macro uses English units. The cost is US $45.00.

  • Excel Macro for Converting Universal Radial Planimeter Readings to Real Units (LNCNEX02)

The LNCNEX02 macro will significantly increase the ease and efficiency with which you can find the average value of a curve plotted on a radial chart when you measure it with a LASICO universal linear planimeter. The macro converts the raw planimeter readings into real chart units and records them on an Excel spreadsheet. The formula required for the conversion is complex enough so that it cannot be incorporated into the processor as a simple multiplier.
The macro builds a worksheet template containing all necessary parameters including inner and outer chart radii, time per chart revolution, time covered by the measurement line, chart scale value, and planimeter calibration constant. Once you have entered these parameters, just trace a measurement line and press the data entry button to enter the raw planimeter reading and automatically compute the real chart reading.. Any number of readings can be recorded on a single spreadsheet. The LNCNEX02 macro must be used with Excel version 5 or later.

The LNCNEX02 macro uses English units and costs US $45.00.

  • Lotus 1-2-3 Macro for Computing Gas Flow, with Square Root Planimeter Input (SR123V01/02)

The SR123V01/02 macro provides a simple and rapid means for computing gas flow when the orifice flow constant is provided. It utilizes Lotus 1-2-3 version 5 or later to make a spreadsheet template containing a column for each input and output parameter. You enter your chart characteristics, orifice flow constant, and planimeter reading of the chart outer circle. Then use a square root planimeter to measure the average square root values of static and differential pressure curves inputting each reading as you get it, and the macro will compute flow. With LASICO instruments you can enter each planimeter reading by means of a simple button press. You can record any number of computations.

The SR123V01/02 macro uses English units. The cost is US $45.00.

  • Lotus 1-2-3 Macro for Computing Gas Flow, with Radial Planimeter Input (LF123V01/02)

This macro is the same as the one above except that the planimeter reading must be from a universal radial planimeter instead of a square root planimeter.

This macro uses English units. The cost is US $45.00

  • Lotus 1-2-3 Macro for Converting Radial Planimeter Readings Into Chart Units (LC123V01/02)

The LC123V01/02 macro provides a simple and rapid means for translating universal radial planimeter readings into chart units. Unlike most planimeters that are designed to read only one type of chart, universal radial planimeters are designed to read nearly all types of radial charts. While this is desirable, the readings must be converted to chart readings by means of a rather complex equation. The LC123V01/02 macro uses Lotus 123 version 5 or later to make a template into which you type in your chart constants and enter your planimeter readings as you get them. After each planimeter entry, the macro automatically computes the equivalent chart reading. A single spreadsheet can contain multiple entries.

The LC123V01/02 macro uses English units. The cost is US $45.00.

For HP 48G / GX Calculator Systems

To utilize these programs with electronic data entry you need:
An electronic Radial or Square Root Planimeter and processor with either an attachable interface: SM2 + N1RS232 , M / XM + N2RS232, or a processor with built in interface: M2 / XM2.
A 1285-22 Serial Interface Cable plus a HP 48G/GX Calculator, an HP 82240B Printer and an HP F1207B Graphic Calculator PC Connectivity Kit.

  • HP 48G/GX Macro for Computing Orifice Flow Constant and Gas Flow, with Square Root Planimeter Input (Flows1)

This macro (Flows1) implements equations of AGA-3 to provide a simple and rapid means for computing an orifice flow constant and flow.
Enter parameters including chart characteristics, orifice diameter, meter tube diameter, tap type, specific gravity, pressure base, temperature base into the calculator. Then use your LASICO square root planimeter to trace the static and differential pressure curves. Press the data entry key of your keypad to enter the measurement data and, after the second entry, compute flow and print the results. The chart characteristics and flow parameters remain the same until you change them. This program uses the pressure independent part of the orifice flow constant.

This macro uses English units. The cost is US $125.00

  • HP48G/GX Macro for Computing Orifice Flow Constant and Gas Flow, with Radial Planimeter Input (Flow1)

This macro (Flow1) is the same as the one above except that the planimeter reading must be from a universal radial planimeter instead of a square root planimeter.

This macro uses English units. The cost is US $125.00
