Computer Interface for Models M2 and XM2

One of the most significant features of the M2/XM2 processor is its ability to communicate with virtually any computer or software program. To make this possible, the following hardware drivers are readily incorporated.

The RS232 Interface operates via one of the computer's serial ports. Needed : A software driver. It interprets the hardware output for the computer. Lasico offers an optional software driver (No. RSKB), which can be used in conjunction with programs running under DOS. (Spreadsheets, Database Programs, Wordprocessors, etc.) Needed: Serial Cable Kit No. 1285-22

The KB Interface is easiest to use and works with IBM PC's and most Compatibles. The Keyboard Code of the computer is emulated and any software accepting numerical data can be addressed. (Spreadsheets, D-base Programs, Wordprocessors, ....) Important: The KB Interface does not interfere with normal computer operation and the keyboard remains operational at all times. A software driver is not necessary ! The data from the M2/XM2 processor goes always precisely where a keyboard entry would go ! Needed : 1285-7 KB Cable Kit for PC's .

The ADB Interface was designed to communicate with Apple's Macintosh computers. The processor is connected to one of the computer's ADB ports via an optional 1285-ADB cable. Just like with the KB system, the ADB interface does not interfere with normal computer operation and a software driver is not necessary.  Needed: 1285-ADB Interface Cable.

The RT Interface is configured for use with Remote Terminals of a Mini / Mainframe System. Although the data transmission uses the RS232 format, the operational characteristics have the advantages of the KB interface. A special Software Driver is not needed. Needed : 1285-20 Junction Box and No. 1285-21 RT Cable.

The PR Interface permits data transmission to a dedicated printing calculator (No. 1285-14). All measuring results can be printed, labeled, dated and processed through the calculator section in any way desired. Needed : 1285-14 Printing Calculator with 1285-6D Cable.
