	Large display panels show measuring and counting results or X/Y coordinates in any measuring unit desired. Scaling is fully automatic. LED indicators verify the active operating mode. The enclosure can be tilted and rotated for optimal viewing angles.
A keypad (included) is used to enter scale ratios, define coordinates, select hardware drivers, manipulate results via a built in calculator and set various operating parameters. It can also be used for numerical data entry.
	The instrument cursor glides smoothly with very little friction and provides excellent support for the guiding hand. Studies have shown this system to be superior to a pen stylus with 15-20% better control and speed. For normal use, virtually all essential digitizer functions can be controlled via the cursor switches. All switches have dual functions and the switchpad includes directional keys for work in spreadsheets. A cursor handle switch can be programmed to control most functions.

Other common features of 1282 systems include: 1282 Models can be used on any table, including transparent light tables. The Instrument is readily preprogrammed for scale compensated Area and Length Measurements and for use as a Digitizer. Measurements can be performed in the point mode, (for regular shaped figures and lines) the stream mode (for irregular shaped areas and lines) or a combination of both. Any scale ratio can be used, Imperial, Metric or arbitrary. Space is at a premium in most offices. The typical 1282-24 needs only a 7 inches strip of table space when parked, always ready for action.	As a “stand alone system” 1282 models provide fully scale compensated area and length results, X/Y coordinates and item counts as well as angle and centroid measurements.
A special printing calculator (1285-14) is available for manipulation and printout of results.	Computer interface drivers are readily installed to assure communication with most computers and programs.
