Electronic Planimeters

Except for the 1281 Area Line Meters, the basic planimeter concept is identical to that found in mechanical instruments. However the measuring wheel is connected to an electro optical transducer which generates a specific number of pulses per shaft revolution. These pulses are counted and displayed (Mod. 44P/C) or counted, scaled and displayed (Models 42P/C ,
45P/C, 1252 and 1262 ) .

 The advantages are numerous.

The rather tedious readout and scaling procedure required for mechanical planimeters is reduced to a simple operation and the disadvantages of the limiting 4 digit counting capacity of mechanical instruments is eliminated.

 Electronic Planimeters provide:

  • Significant increases in operating speed

  • Automatic scale compensation (not 44P/C)

  • Higher accuracy level

  • No readout errors

  • Accumulative measuring capabilities

  • Electronic zeroing

  • Vastly improved operating ease and convenience

  • Ideal for people needing corrective glasses

  • Interfacing with host computers Mod. 42P/C, 1252 , 1262 and 1281Area/Line Meters
